Evan is a successful singer-songwriter, and a fantastic guitarist.

Evan teaches guitar, ukulele and songwriting to students of all ages and skill levels. As a teacher, Evan  combines music’s technical aspects, with the creative and expressive. Evan strives to help his students not just play guitar, but express themselves through it. You’ll find that Evan’s warm and demeanor makes everything fun and easy!

What can you teach me better on your instrument than any other teacher?

Rhythm guitar combined with singing. This is my specialty.

How did you learn to play your instrument?

By an undying curiosity.

What equipment do you play on today?

A handful of guitars - primarily my custom Martin.

Which personal trait helped you the most while practicing?

Tenacity.

What does your instrument have that others don't?

The age that brings out an instrument’s true voice.

How do you handle children?

Becoming a bit of a kid again myself, which invites children into being themselves and having fun while learning.

What has been your greatest experience as a musician so far?

Improvising over the blues continually feels, to me, like the greatest reward.

What was the biggest stage you played on?

Playing guitar for Liz Phair.

Which record would you take with you to the desert island?

"Both Sides Now" By Joni Mitchell

Besides music, what else is important in your life?

Family, friends, and food!
