About Nick

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Nick began playing the guitar at the age of 11. Influenced by the Blues and Rock and Roll records his father played around the house, he developed an early passion for music. Nick is a graduate of the University of Southern California's guitar program.

His teaching philosophy centers on fun, nurturing inspiration, and setting students up for success. Recognizing that every student is unique, Nick tailors his approach to meet individuals where they are. With each student having different goals and aspirations, he believes that success is uniquely defined. For Nick, it's all about fostering musical growth and deepening a relationship with music that enriches both individual lives and the wider community.

Delving deeply into rich musical traditions, Nick expanded his repertoire to include everything from '60s and '70s Rock and Roll to early Blues, Folk, and Rhythm and Blues.

At the age of 13, he started a rock band that eventually recorded an EP at the Record Plant Studios in Hollywood, produced by the legendary Don Was. Nick further broadened his musical education by joining his school's jazz program. His school jazz band earned accolades, performing at the Panama Jazz Festival and competing as finalists in the Next Generation Monterey Jazz Festival.

During high school, Nick caught the attention of Glenn Frey of the Eagles after a performance at a club in Santa Monica. This led to a collaborative relationship, and Nick was invited to be a part of Glenn's band for benefit concerts that he organized. With Glenn Frey and Don Was as bandmates, Nick performed at renowned venues like the Roxy and the House of Blues over a span of three years.

Nick later honed his skills at USC as a Popular Music Performance Major, continuing his development as both an artist and a professional musician.

Currently, Nick resides in Los Angeles, where he is a singer and guitarist. In addition to teaching, he enjoys songwriting, music production, and performing with other musicians around town.
