About Vanessa


Vanessa Begley is a Los Angeles based piano and voice teacher with a genuine passion for sharing her love of music with all her students. She started teaching after graduating with a BA in Vocal Performance from northern California’s Sonoma State University, and nine years later she is still dedicated to helping her students become the best musicians they can be. In addition to her teaching studio, she has also been a music director, composer, and performer since moving to LA in 2015. Her approach to teaching focuses on finding the spark that inspires each student so they can build a strong technical foundation for their artistry as well as a love of music that makes them life long learners.

Lessons since age 7

Casio keyboard

Which personal trait helped you the most while practicing?

Being a bit of a perfectionist

What does your instrument have that others don't?

Every voice is wonderfully unique, so mine carries a little bit of who I am whenever I sing

How do you handle children?

Well! Kids are so much fun to work with because they’re so good at making friends and meeting new people.

What has been your greatest experience as a musician so far?

Getting the opportunity to score music for some short films and other projects.

Besides music, what else is important in your life?

My dog, my partner, my family, and good food.
