April News and Events

Happy April!

We are in preparation mode for a slough of recitals next month! Look for our calendar below outlining salons and workshops being offered this spring. We hope this is a fruitful month of practice and collaboration with your teachers. We want you to feel confident and happy with your progress when you get in front of an audience! That being said- we call them "workshops" because we believe in progress over perfection. We want everyone to share their music, however unfinished it may feel. Students can learn from one another and build each other up if given the chance to share.

We also want to stress how excited we are to be having our first ever in-person recital in Portland, OR. We hope to continue to grow our community both in LA and Portland, so please do support these events wherever you may be! Happy practicing!

Music on the town

Most of us live within a few miles of the most world class exhibits and talented artists around. Take advantage of the proximity with these events happening now!

THIS SATURDAY APRIL 9: See 12 world premieres and 5 LA Phil commissions at Noon to Midnight "The LA Phil’s new music marathon with a full day of pop-up performances" featuring premiere LA ensembles and artists. This is such a rare opportunity to experience Disney Hall in a casual and cool setting. There will be a beer garden and DJ's spinning...not to mention some food vendors. What more could you want?!

Grammy Museum's Songs of Conscience, Sounds of Freedom is running until MAY 5: Time out says "See how music has informed social consciousness, from the American Revolution to today’s fight for racial justice, in this exhibition of instruments, outfits, flyers and handwritten lyrics at the Grammy Museum." This has got to be an incredible ode to music and its embodiment of our collective emotions and experience. Check it out!

We have expert teachers who teach in all styles of music; experts in Jazz, Classical, Pop, and more.
